Some people that have been following the competition from the beginning are happy that Groom's Cake won.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!" Christina Evans wrote. "You don’t know how happy this makes me and my Blue Bell Ice Cream loving daughter! "
However, some fans didn't want to believe the results.
"You’re kidding???" Mack Simms wrote. "These were tallies on Cookie Cake as of 11:37PM CT, seven hours AFTER you extended the time (in which Cookie Cake would have won fair & square). Something feels fishy here."
"That can’t be true," Matt Copeland wrote. "Cookie cake was winning by a long shot."
Blue Bell responded and explained how the results were accounted for.
"The total votes are a combination of all social media accounts and the voting on our website," the comment read. "Ultimately Groom's Cake was the winner. There is always a chance Cookie Cake could return one day!"
